Homeless figures rise in NYC

From the NYDailynews:

"The average number of homeless families last month totaled 9,287, marking an all-time record high since the city began tracking this data about 25 years ago.

According to the report, during the past year, the number of homeless New Yorkers in shelters increased by 11.1%, the number of homeless families in shelters increased by 17.6%, and the number of homeless children increased by 18.1%."

But yet the economy is doing fine. I wonder what are the figures on low income housing build vs. luxury condos.
